AccenntHansen look forward to testing timesAccentHansen has commenced its EN 16034 fire test development programme at Exova Warrington, which will lead to the launch of an enhanced specification of its steel fire doorsets by the end of 2015. Initially, AccentHansen have fire tested single door leaves to the enhanced specification with two differing cores and successfully achieved a 4 hour burn time. The next step of the program will be to test the enhanced specification in a double leaf arrangement with both side and over panels options.
The AccentHansen’ s fire test development programme is being undertaken to meet with the introduction of the standard for fire doorsets EN 16034 which was officially entered into the Official Journal of the European Union during July 2015. This will require the CE marking of fire doorsets, windows, garage and Industrial doors.
CE marking of fire doorsets can start from 1st December 2015 and there will subsequently be a 3 year transition period for manufacturers to achieve compliance. CE marking of these products will be much more complex than standard pedestrian doorsets and windows, with differing requirements for product sampling, single/double doors, glazing systems, hardware, side/over panels, etc. and to ensure the requirements of the Standard are fully met.
